FibroCornea Study – Terms of Use

Last updated: September 2026

1. Purpose of the platform

The FibroCornea platform is a professional veterinary research platform intended to support the conduct of the FibroCornea multicentre clinical study.

Access is restricted to authorised participating veterinary centres, investigators and study administrators.

The platform is not intended for use by animal owners or members of the general public.

2. Professional use

Users of the platform must be veterinary professionals or other persons specifically authorised to participate in the FibroCornea study.

By using the platform, users agree to follow the current FibroCornea Investigator Protocol and the study procedures available through the platform.

3. User accounts

Access credentials are confidential.

Participating centres are responsible for:

• protecting their login credentials;
• limiting access to authorised personnel;
• maintaining accurate investigator information;
• informing the study coordinator of any suspected unauthorised access.

Accounts must not be shared with persons who are not authorised to participate in the study.

4. Study data

Users are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the clinical information entered into the platform.

Study assessments should be entered according to the FibroCornea Investigator Protocol.

Clinical images should correspond to the correct animal, eye and study visit.

5. Owner consent

No animal may be enrolled in the FibroCornea study without appropriate informed consent from its owner.

The signed consent form must be retained by the participating veterinary centre according to its usual archiving procedures and applicable requirements.

6. Confidentiality

Users must respect the confidentiality of study data.

Unnecessary personally identifiable information concerning animal owners should not be entered into the FibroCornea platform or included in uploaded clinical images.

7. Research use

Data collected through the FibroCornea study may be used for scientific analysis, presentations, communications and publications.

Whenever appropriate, results will be presented in aggregated or anonymised form.

8. Clinical responsibility

Participation in the FibroCornea study does not replace the professional clinical judgement of the attending veterinarian.

The attending veterinarian remains responsible for the medical care and welfare of the animal and may modify or discontinue study participation when clinically necessary.

9. Protocol deviations and technical problems

Investigators should report significant protocol deviations, adverse events or technical problems that may affect study data.

Technical problems or suspected platform errors should be reported to the study coordinator as soon as reasonably possible.

10. Platform availability

Reasonable efforts are made to maintain the availability, integrity and security of the FibroCornea platform.

Temporary interruptions may occur for maintenance, technical updates or circumstances beyond the control of the study administrators.

11. Changes

The study protocol, platform and these Terms of Use may be updated when necessary.

The current version of the Investigator Protocol available through the FibroCornea platform should be considered the reference version for study procedures.
